Welcome to Teyvat!

Genshin Impact Version 4.0 "Masquerade of the Guilty" has launched, and the Fontaine region is now open. If you're considering starting Genshin Impact, now is the best time.

I. Initial Character Selection

After completing the prologue, you'll get the Traveler (Anemo/Geo), and more characters through the story. Recommended priority for system-gifted characters:

  • Kaeya: Excellent cryo support, easy to obtain ascension materials
  • Amber: Essential for exploration, great for puzzles
  • Lisa: Electro DPS, good for elemental reactions

II. Gacha Recommendations

For beginners, it's recommended to prioritize pulling a strong main DPS character. Here are the recommendations for post-4.0:

  1. Lynette (Recommended Fontaine version bow main DPS)
  2. Neuvillette (One of Fontaine's strongest DPS)
  3. Baizhu (Practical dendro healer)

III. Resource Management

The core resources in Genshin are Primogems and Mora. Recommendations:

  • Daily commissions are a must for stable Primogem income
  • Opening chests and unlocking teleport waypoints also give Primogems
  • Mora is mainly obtained from Ley Line Outcrops (Blossom of Wealth)

IV. Elemental Reaction Basics

The core of Genshin's combat is elemental reactions. Mastering these basic reactions can greatly increase damage:

Reaction TypeElement ComboEffect
VaporizePyro + HydroDamage ×1.5 / ×2
MeltPyro + CryoDamage ×1.5 / ×2
SuperconductElectro + CryoReduces physical RES
SwirlAnemo + OtherAoE elemental damage
