How PUBG Ranking Works
PUBG uses a point-based system. Kills and assists grant RP (Rank Points). Placement grants multiplier RP. Surviving to top 10 with 0 kills awards more points than dying at #60 with 5 kills.
- Kill RP: ~10 points per kill, diminishing returns after 5 kills (to discourage kill-farming over winning)
- Placement multiplier: Top 10 = 1.5x, Top 5 = 2x, Top 3 = 2.5x, Winner = 3x
Rank-Up Strategy Per Tier
Bronze → Gold: Play Aggressive
At low ranks, bot density is high. Take every fight. Learn recoil patterns and peeking mechanics in real combat rather than training mode. You can easily reach Gold with below-average aim by winning 1v1s against bots and passive players.
Gold → Diamond: Play for Placement
Gold is where the bot density drops and real players appear. Drop at medium-contest locations (not Pochinki/Hacienda, but not completely empty either). Get 1-2 early kills, then rotate to zone center and hold position. Surviving to top 5 with 2 kills = ~50 RP per game.
Diamond → Master: Play to Win
At Diamond+, every player has good aim. Winning comes down to positioning, zone prediction, and utility usage. Don't take 50/50 fights. Use smokes to create safe rotation paths. Hold power positions in the zone (high ground, hard cover, vehicle for emergency rotation).
Quick Tips
- Vehicle rotation: Always have a vehicle. Walking across open fields in late circles is a death sentence.
- Zone 4 prediction: The 4th zone closes at a predictable offset from the 3rd zone. Position toward the side with the least player density.
- Third-partying: In Diamond+, every fight attracts a third party within 30 seconds. Finish fights fast or disengage.
- Smoke grenades: Carry 3+ smokes minimum in the final circles. They're more valuable than frag grenades.
